How do we get to the finished item?
Here is an image taken recently showing a selection of enclosures undergoing final assembly and getting ready to be dispatched to our customers.
But how do we get the enclosures to this point?
At MFB, we operate a range of machinery. Enclosures begin from thin gauge flat sheet steel or stainless steel. The first stage of processing is the Turret Punch. These machines, driven by CAM programs using pre-defined tools, punch the shapes into the steel.
The next step is folding the flat sheet steel into required shapes. From there parts will flow into the welding bays to form our IP and Security enclosures, other parts will go directly into finishing for powder coating which consists of a batch oven for larger parts and a conveyor oven for smaller items.
We have additional machinery for drilling, taping, and milling operations. Machinery for placing gaskets for our IP Enclosure product and machinery for making our accessory range including PCB selective soldering for Power Board manufacture.
Behind the scenes we have our own in-house design center running Autodesk Inventor to assist in the designing process of our standard product range and importantly customized products for specific applications.
Here is a selection of photographs to provide a glimpse of how we make stuff. Proudly Australian manufacturing here in Melbourne.
